Where do you get a book that tells you which pokemon cards are rare or common?

I have pokemon cards and I'm wondering which are rare or common. My dad said there was a book but where can you find one?

You can get that list of cards by buying a pokemon card deck and the deck includes the things you need including the list you've ask for. It is located behind a rulebook.Rare cards have a star symbol located at the bottom right of the card,rare holo has a letter 'H' next to the star,uncommon has a diamond symbol and the common symbol is a circle.If your card does not have a symbol,it is a promo card.
